Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Curso de nivel básico del área comunicación de educación general que ofrece al alumno estrategias de pensamiento crítico necesarias para investigar, leer, comprender, analizar y presentar de manera oral y por escrito textos académicos, expositivos y argumentativos. Tiene como requisito que el estudiante conozca las normas académicas de ortografía y puntuación, así como los procedimientos sintácticos y léxicos para generar oraciones y párrafos con coherencia y cohesión. Como resultado de aprendizaje, el alumno participa en un debate y escribe un artículo académico en los que demuestra su capacidad para comunicar sus ideas y conocimientos de manera ordenada y reflexiva.

In accordance with the 2015 Tech of Monterrey Mission, this workshop is intended to: 1) provide the student with the skills needed to read, understand, analyze and transmit messages in texts that he or she will be required to create during his academic career. Thus the course will help him to develop his critical thinking and reasoning skills; 2) Encourage the development of verbal abilities, written and orally, that will allow the student to communicate his ideas and knowledge effectively, in the proper order and reflectively; 3) Instill academic rigor into research.
