Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios: |

|
Es un curso de nivel medio que tiene la intención de dar al estudiante las herramientas y habilidades necesarias para el Modelado de Información de la Construcción (BIM), es decir, la generación y gestión de datos a partir de la representación digital de un edificio. Como resultado del aprendizaje, se espera que el alumno utilice esta herramienta en la toma de decisiones a lo largo del proceso de diseño y construcción, y en la gestión de la edificación. |

Al finalizar el curso, el alumno será capaz de entender los conceptos, procesos y filosofía, y ciclo de vida del proyecto BIM a través del análisis e integración de las diferentes fases del mismo (diseño, construcción y operación).
El estudiante entenderá y utilizará los alcances del BIM: Contratos,activos de información involucrados, estándares, métodos de cuantificaciones, flujos de trabajo con todos los involucrados, gestión de la edificación, manejo de bases de datos, simulaciones , programación 4D análisis de riesgos, coordinación, construcción, y todas sus referencias con la informática, en las fases de un proyecto, diseño ,construcción y vida útil. |

|
It is an intermediate course intended to give students the skills required to do and interact with building information modeling (BIM), that is, the generation and management of a digital representation of a facility. The resulting knowledge will allow the student to use this computer tool in decision making from the design and construction processes to the facility management of buildings. |

Course objective: |

| At the end of the course, students will be able to understand BIM concepts, its processes and philosophy, as well as BIM project lifecycle by analyzing and integrating the different project lifecycle phases (design, construction, and operations). Students will be able to understand and use BIM delivery methods: information assets, standards, design approach, take offs, contracts, coordination, construction, 4D scheduling, information workflows, subcontractors, procurement, quality assurance, built delivery, FM and database extraction, simulations, risk analysis, programming, references and links using TI. | |||||
