Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Es un curso de nivel intermedio orientado a la utilización de las ciencias básicas para el procesamiento de levantamientos topográficos planimétricos, altimétricos y de configuración de terrenos , edificaciones urbanas y rurales; integrándolos en un sistema de información geográfica para su análisis con aplicaciones ingenieriles. Requiere conocimientos previos de conceptos básicos de Matemáticas, Geografía y Dibujo Computarizado. Como resultado de aprendizaje, se espera que el alumno procese los datos obtenidos de levantamientos planimétricos y altimétricos mediante diferentes técnicas e integre estos resultados y otros datos espaciales en un sistema de información geográfica para su análisis.

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación:  

Al finalizar el curso el alumno será capaz de aplicar técnicas para el cálculo de poligonales abiertas, poligonales cerradas, curvas horizontales y verticales, así como comprender las técnicas empleadas para el control de elevaciones y alineación en edificaciones. Así mismo, integrará los levantamientos, las bases de datos y otros formatos de datos espaciales en un sistema de información geográfica para su análisis.

Course intention within the general study plan context:  

This is an intermediate course, oriented to the use of basic science in order to process topographical, planimetric and altimetric surveys, urban and rural lot and building configurations, integrating them into a geographical information system for their analysis with engineering applications. Previous knowledge is required in Mathematics, Geography and Computerized Drafting. The learning outcome of this course is that the students will be able to process the data obtained from planimetric and altimetric surveys, using various techniques, and integrate those results and other spatial data into a geographic information system for their analysis.

Course objective:  

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply techniques to calculate open polygons, closed polygons, horizontal and vertical curves; understand the techniques used to control elevations and alignment in buildings; and integrate surveys, databases and other spatial data formats in a geographic information system for analysis.
