Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Curso de nivel intermedio en el campo del derecho. Al finalizar el curso el alumno analizara y sistematizará los conceptos fundamentales relacionados con el derecho Intelectual; así como el procedimiento administrativo y judicial relacionado con la adquisición, conservación, trasmisión, respeto y terminación de los derechos de exclusividad otorgados en materia de propiedad industrial y derechos de autor. Requiere conocimientos previos de derecho administrativo. Como resultado de aprendizaje el alumnos distinguirá y explicara los conceptos fundamentales del derecho intelectual su autonomía como disciplina jurídica, así como su terminología propia, su clasificación, protección, tramitación: derechos y obligaciones que trae aparejada y causas de terminación. Reconocerá la clasificación de infracciones y delitos en materia de propiedad industrial y derechos de autor, así como la forma en que se lleve a cabo la competencia desleal. Identificará y explicará los conceptos generales relativos al traspaso de tecnología, su vinculación con el derecho intelectual, consideraciones económicas y su regulación.

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación:  
Obtener los conocimientos elementales respecto a la interrelación derivada entre las nuevas tecnologías y el Derecho. Por un lado, la tecnología como instrumento del derecho, y por el otro el Derecho de la Informática como la regulación jurídica de la sociedad de la información. Conocer los diversos fenómenos jurídicos que se pueden suscitar con las nuevas tecnologías, sus regulaciones y la manera en que se han decidido resolver no solamente en el Sistema Jurídico Mexicano, sino desde una perspectiva comparada. Conocer las regulaciones del tema en México, América Latina, los Estados Unidos y la Unión Europea.

Course intention within the general study plan context:  

Intermediate course in the field of law. At the end of this course, students will be able to analyze and systematize the fundamental concepts related to intellectual rights as well as administrative and judicial proceedings related to the acquisition, storage, transmission, compliance and termination of the exclusive rights granted as regards to industrial property rights and Copyright. The course requires prior knowledge of administrative law. As a learning outcomes, students will identify and explain the basic concepts of intellectual rights as a legal discipline, their autonomy as a legal discipline and their own terminology, their classification, protection, processing, rights and obligations that entail risk and reasons for termination. The students will recognize the classification of crime and offenses with respect to industrial property copyrights, as well as the way in which unfair competition is carried out. They will identify and explain the general concepts relating to the transfer of technology, its relationship to intellectual rights, economic and regulatory considerations.

Course objective:  
On completion of this course, students will possess basic knowledge regarding the correlation between new technologies and the law, considering, on one hand, technology as an instrument of law and, on the other, Informatics Law as the judicial regulation of the information society. They will be familiar with the diverse legal phenomena that might stem from the new technologies, their regulations and the way in which they have been resolved not only in the Mexican legal System, but also from a comparative perspective. They will understand the regulations for this subject in Mexico, Latin America, the United States and the European Union.
