Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios: |

|
La economía política se ocupa de la interacción entre la economía y la política, tanto en lo sustantivo (e.g., la relación entre distribución del poder político y la distribución de la riqueza), como en lo metodológico (e.g., la aplicación de los preceptos de racionalidad económica a los procesos de decisión política). El curso examinará esta interacción en la teoría y en la práctica, revisando los principales paradigmas y perspectivas de la economía política y aplicándolos al estudio de casos y temas específicos. En ello se privilegiará un enfoque comparativo, y se enfatizará especialmente el análisis de la relación entre el Estado y el Mercado. Los temas a estudiar serán de relevancia actual, y en los casos se incluirán diversos hechos y observaciones relacionadas con la realidad mexicana. |

| Political economy takes care of the interaction between the Economics and Politics, in the substantive and methodological issues. Example of the first is the relation between the distribution of political power and the distribution of richness. Example of the latter is the application of the economics rationality in theory and practice, in the political decision- making processes. The course will examine these interactions in theory and practice, reviewing the main paradigms and perspectives of political economics, applying them to study cases and specific topics. A comparative approach will be used to emphasize the analysis of the relation between the State and the Market. The topics to be studied will be of present relevance and so will the case which includes facts and observations related to the Mexican reality. | |||||
