Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios: |

|
Curso de nivel intermedio orientado a que los alumnos conozcan, analicen y disfruten diversas manifestaciones artísticas contemporáneas, para comprender el mundo y su realidad social y personal. A través del análisis transdisciplinario y contextualizado de conceptos relevantes para el mundo contemporáneo, los alumnos: Estudiarán las relaciones que existen entre la producción artística y la sociedad. Comprenderán que las manifestaciones artísticas son productos sociales susceptibles de análisis e interpretación. Contarán con elementos teóricos y metodológicos que incrementarán su capacidad de disfrutar el arte y de respetar la diversidad cultural. Tomarán conciencia de la dimensión ética del arte como fenómeno social. Reforzarán sus capacidades de comunicación oral y escrita, el razonamiento lógico y crítico, la creatividad y la investigación. No requiere conocimientos previos. Como resultado de aprendizaje el alumno analizará diversas manifestaciones artísticas contemporáneas. |

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación: |

|
Al finalizar el curso el alumno será capaz de explorar las diversas propuestas artísticas, corrientes de interpretación crítica, y prácticas sociales del arte contemporáneo, para acrecentar su sensibilidad estética y su comprensión del mundo. Lo anterior, a través del estudio de contextos históricos, obras de arte, lectura de textos, práctica de diferentes herramientas de análisis, visitas a exposiciones y eventos culturales, y la realización de proyectos de investigación, los alumnos incrementarán su interés, entendimiento y aprecio por el arte y se sensibilizarán sobre el valor transformador de la experiencia artística. |

Course intention within the general study plan context: |

|
Intermediate course in which students will become familiar with, analyze and enjoy diverse contemporary artistic expressions in order to understand the world and their social and personal reality. Through the cross-disciplinary, contextualized analysis of concepts relevant to today's world, students will: Study the relationships that exist between artistic production and society; understand the artistic expressions that are social products to be analyzed and interpreted; be conversant in the theory and methodologies that will increase their capacity to enjoy art and respect cultural diversity; become aware of the ethical dimension of art as a social phenomenon; reinforce their oral and written communication, logical and critical reasoning, creativity and research capacities. No prior knowledge is required. As a learning outcome students will analyze diverse contemporary artistic expressions. |

Students will study the various artistic proposals, trends in critical interpretation, and social practices in contemporary art, in order to increase their artistic sensitivity and their understanding of the world. Through the study of historical contexts, works of art, texts, practice with analytical tools, trips to expositions and cultural events, and the development of research projects, students will experience increased interest, understanding and appreciation of art, and sensitivity to the transforming value of the artistic experience. |
