Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Curso de nivel intermedio en el área de literatura en el cual se leen las principales obras mexicanas reconocidas a nivel nacional e internacional que permitirá al alumno familiarizarse con variados estilos de la literatura contemporánea. Requiere conocimientos previos de literatura mexicana y de teoría literaria. El alumno tendrá oportunidad de asomarse a un panorama temático que comprende la historia, la Revolución, la vida familiar, la política, la economía, los cambios sociales, la psicología de los personajes, y la evolución de la literatura mexicana a través de las modalidades del Realismo Socialista, ?la Onda?, la Anti Novela (Nouveau Roman), la Novela Experimental, La Literatura Basura, el Crack, la Literatura del Norte, entre otras corrientes literarias.

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación:  

Al finalizar este curso, el alumno será capaz de valorar y analizar las principales obras de la narrativa mexicana del siglo XX y de comprender a través de ellas la historia y los aspectos sociales del México contemporáneo.

Course intention within the general study plan context:  

This is an intermediate course in the field of literature during which students read the most well-known Mexican works of literature on a national and international level, allowing the students to familiarize themselves with the various styles of contemporary literature. The course requires previous knowledge of Mexican literature and literary theory. The student will have the opportunity to delve into a thematic panorama that includes history, the "Revolución", family life, politics, economy, social changes, character psychology, and the evolution of Mexican literature through the modes of Social Realism, "La Onda", the Antinovel (Nouveau Roman), the Experimental Novel, the Trash Novel, the Crack, the Literature of the North, among other literary trends.

Course objective:  

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to assess and analyze the main works in 20th century Mexican narrative and understand through them the history and social aspects of contemporary Mexico.
