Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Inglés I  es un curso que tiene como intención que el estudiante desarrolle sus habilidades de comunicación en inglés en contextos sociales y académicos desde un nivel principiante, hasta un nivel A1 al menos. No requiere conocimientos básicos del idioma y pretende desarrollar en el alumno habilidades no solo lingüisticas, sino de hábitos de estudio y de confianza en sí mismo. El curso también pretende sumergir al alumno en culturas anglopartlantes. Como resultado de aprendizaje, el alumno reconocerá y utilizará de manera adecuada las estructuras sintácticas del inglés a nivel A1.

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación:  

Al finalizar el curso el alumno será capaz de:

- Identificar y producir sonidos y patrones de entonación característicos del idioma inglés.

- Identificar y establecer la intención de comunicación a través del reconocimiento de los patrones de entonación del inglés.

- Participar en interacciones comunicativas elementales y básicas.

- Aplicar sus habilidades lingüísticas en inglés a un nivel A1 de acuerdo con el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia.

- Formular descripciones básicas de lugares, objetos y ropa utilizando términos de tamaño, color y forma.

- Describir lugares y entornos conocidos.

- Interactuar adecuadamente en diferentes contextos comunicativos de la vida cotidiana y social.

- Identificar y describir experiencias personales, necesidades, emociones y proyectos y planes.

- Reconocer y expresar opiniones personales, lamentos, consejos, etc., en conversaciones y entrevistas.

- Entender y producir descripciones básicas de personas y sus ocupaciones y actividades profesionales.

- Identificar marcos de tiempos verbales y el orden lógico y cronológico de acciones y eventos.

- Reconocer y usar frases y expresiones idiomáticas correctamente.

- Entender información básica en encabezados, anuncios, formas, etiquetas e instrucciones básicas.

- Entender y producir frases de extensión y complejidad moderadas relacionadas con experiencias personales y  necesidades.

- Establecer el orden lógico y cronológico de acciones o eventos.

- Identificar ideas principales y hechos en textos simples, de complejidad moderada y en diferentes contextos temporales.

- Identificar la idea principal y los detalles específicos en diferentes textos.

- Tomar apuntes a nivel básico.

- Redactar textos cortos y formar oraciones cortas usando expresiones fijas.

- Proveer información en textos simples y formularios.

- Producir mensajes simples.

- Redactar párrafos y textos cortos haciendo uso de diferentes funciones del lenguaje.

Al final, el alumo será capaz de lograr un A1 en la certificación final de acuerdo al MCER.

Se espera que el(la) instructor(a) tenga al menos tres años de experiencia en la enseñanza del inglés, un nivel de dominio del idioma de al menos C1 según el MCER, así como dominio de los niveles del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia.

Course intention within the general study plan context:  

English I: Introductory is a hibrid course which intention is to help the student develop communicative abilities in English in social and academic contexts starting in a beginners level and advancing to an A1 level at least.

The student doesn't need to have any previous knowledge  of the English language and will also work in study habits and  self confidence.

In addition the student will be immerse in the English speaking cultures.

Upon completion the student will be able to demonstrate an A1.

Course objective:  

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

- Identify and produce characteristic sounds and intonation patterns of the English language.

- Identify and establish the intention of communication through the recognition of intonation patterns in English.

- Participate in elementary and basic communicative interactions.

- Apply your English language skills to an A1 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference.

- Formulate basic descriptions of places, objects and clothing using terms of size, color and shape.

- Describe familiar places and environments.

- Interact appropriately in different communicative contexts of daily and social life.

- Identify and describe personal experiences, needs, emotions, and projects and plans.

- Recognize and express personal opinions, regrets, advice, etc., in conversations and interviews.

- Understand and produce basic descriptions of people and their occupations and professional activities.

- Identify frames of verb tenses and the logical and chronological order of actions and events.

- Recognize and use phrases and idiomatic expressions correctly.

- Understand basic information in headings, advertisements, forms, labels and basic instructions.

- Understand and produce sentences of moderate length and complexity related to personal experiences and needs.

- Establish the logical and chronological order of actions or events.

- Identify main ideas and facts in simple texts of moderate complexity and in different temporal contexts.

- Identify the main idea and specific details in different texts. - Take notes at a basic level.

- Write short texts and form short sentences using fixed expressions.

- Provide information in simple texts and forms.

- Produce simple messages.

- Write paragraphs and short texts using different language functions.

In the end, the student will be able to achieve an A1 in the final certification according to the CEFR.

The instructor is expected to have at least three years of experience in teaching English, a language proficiency level of at least C1 according to the CEFR, as well as mastery of the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference.
