Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación:  
Ubicar a la hidráulica en el campo de la física. Recordar principios elementales de la física. Calcular presas de gravedad a partir del concepto hidrostático. Conceptuar los elementos básicos de la hidrodinámica. Analizar los principios de continuidad y conservación de energía aplicados a fluidos. Aplicar la teoría hidráulica a la circulación del agua en orificios, vertedores y canaletas. Calcular tubería y canales para el transporte de agua en la irrigación.

Course intention within the general study plan context:  

Course objective:  
The place of hydraulics within physical sciences. Review of elementary principles of physics. Calculation of gravity reservoirs based on hydrostatic concepts. Basic elements of hydrodynamics. Application of the principles of continuity and of energy conservation to fluid mechanics. Application of hydraulic theory to water circulation in holes, spillways, and chutes. Calculation of tubes and channels for irrigation purposes.
