Course intention within the general study plan context: |
This introductory course analyzes the most common statistical techniques that include descriptive tools and uses them to carry out inferences on parameters of one or more populations. Learning outcome: the student will be able to use parametric and non-parametric models for one or more populations. |
Course objective: |
On completion of the course, students will be able to: - Use graphical tools and descriptive statistics to organize information according to its characteristics. - Present statistical hypotheses that correspond to actual practical problems and use statistics that suit the problems in order to support (or not) the hypothesis under investigation and, therefore, state the statistical decisions in the context of the problem. |
