Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios: |

|
Es un curso de nivel intermedio que tiene la intención de que el alumno conozca la etiología y patogenia, así como los procesos fisiopatológicos vinculados con las diversas enfermedades del sistema reproductor en el ser humano, identificando las condiciones que afectan al aparato reproductor masculino y femenino en sus diversos funciones y en su estructura anatómica, así como los cambios dados durante el embarazo normal y sus complicaciones principales. Pretende asimismo que el alumno conozca la etiología y patogenia, así como los procesos fisiopatológicos vinculados con el crecimiento y desarrollo prenatal y postnatal. Requiere conocimientos básicos de fisiología del sistema reproductor y del crecimiento y desarrollo, así como la fisiopatología del sistema endócrino. Como resultado del aprendizaje se espera que el alumno resuelva problemas basados en casos reales o hipotéticos, relacionados con la patogenia de las principales enfermedades del sistema reproductor, del embarazo, así como del crecimiento y desarrollo, identificando la etiología de las alteraciones más frecuentes, aplicando los principios que rigen a los procesos fisiopatológicos sistémicos, utilizando las competencias desarrolladas en cursos previos de Fisiopatología, Patología Morfológica y Funcional y orientados a aplicar estas competencias en el aprendizaje de las Ciencias Clínicas. |

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación: |

| Al finalizar el curso el alumno será capaz de identificar la etiología, patogenia y los procesos fisiopatológicos relacionados con las diversas alteraciones del sistema reproductor masculino y femenino, los principales cambios normales del embarazo y sus complicaciones más importantes; describir las alteraciones relacionadas con el crecimiento y desarrollo, sus factores causales y sus procesos fisiopatológicos principales; comprender las clasificaciones de las principales enfermedades de los sistemas reproductor y urinario tanto en el hombre como en la mujer, así como la clasificación de las alteraciones asociadas al crecimiento y desarrollo y sus manifestaciones fundamentales; y adquirir por cuenta propia el conocimiento fundamental para el ejercicio de la Medicina, con base en la resolución de problemas, en la revisión de casos clínicos y en la búsqueda sistemática de información médica válida y actualizada en temas relacionados con la Fisiopatología del Sistema Endócrino. | |||||

Course intention within the general study plan context: |

|
This intermediate course is intended to teach students about the etiology and pathogenesis, as well as pathophysiological processes associated with various diseases of the reproductive system in humans, identifying the conditions that affect the various functions of the reproductive systems in males and females and their anatomical structure, as well as normal changes during pregnancy and the main complications. The course also aims to teach students about the etiology and pathogenesis, as well as pathophysiological processes associated with growth and prenatal and postnatal development. The course requires basic knowledge of reproductive physiology and growth and development, and the pathophysiology of the endocrine system. As a result of learning, the student is expected to solve problems based on actual or hypothetical cases related to the pathogenesis of the main diseases of the reproductive system, pregnancy and growth and development, identifying the etiology of the most common alterations, applying the principles governing systemic pathophysiological processes, using the skills developed in previous courses of Pathophysiology, Morphological and Functional Pathology and oriented to applying these skills in the study of Clinical Sciences. |

| On finishing the course, students will be able to identify the etiology, pathogenesis and pathophysiological processes related to various disorders of the male and female reproductive systems, the main normal changes in pregnancy and the more important complications; describe the changes related to growth and development, their causative factors and main pathophysiological processes; understand the classifications of the main diseases of the reproductive and urinary systems both in men and women, and the classification of changes associated with growth and development and its basic manifestations, acquiring, on their own, essential knowledge required for practicing medicine, based on solving problems, reviewing clinical cases, and systematically searching for valid and updated health information on issues related to the pathophysiology of the endocrine system. | |||||
