Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios: |

|
La materia de cirugía es un curso avanzado, donde el alumno se desempeñará en las funciones de prevención, diagnóstico, tratamiento y rehabilitación de pacientes con problemas quirúrgicos comunes de la salud, con base en los conocimientos, habilidades y valores que un médico general requiere desarrollar respecto a la cirugía general, toracovascular y urológica; desarrollará la habilidad para la obtención y manejo de la información con ética y profesionalismo; logrando una comunicación efectiva con su entorno de acuerdo con las necesidades y expectativas que tiene nuestra comunidad mostrando su compromiso social y humanitario. Como producto de aprendizaje el alumno desarrollará un portafolio con los diagnósticos, tratamientos e historias clínicas desarrolladas y realizadas durante su rotación. |

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación: |

| El alumno será capaz de desempeñar funciones de prevención, diagnóstico, tratamiento y rehabilitación de pacientes con problemas quirúrgicos comunes de la salud, con base en los conocimientos, habilidades y valores que un médico general requiere desarrollar respecto a la cirugía general, toracovascular y urológica; el alumno utilizará los conocimientos científicos y prácticos, la habilidad para la obtención y manejo de la información, y una comunicación efectiva con su entorno de acuerdo con las necesidades y expectativas que tiene nuestra comunidad, para así facilitar un servicio eficiente y con filosofía de calidad que resalten las actitudes y los valores que la profesión médica requiere en la adecuada atención quirúrgica de los pacientes, así como su realización y éxito personal. | |||||

Surgery is an advanced course in which students perform the functions of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with common surgical health problems, based on the knowledge, skills and values required by a physician for general, thoracic and vascular, and urological surgery. Students will develop the skills required to obtain and handle information in an ethical professional manner, effectively communicating with their environment in accordance with the needs and expectations of our community, demonstrating their social and humanitarian commitment. Learning outcome: Students will create a portfolio of the diagnoses, treatments and clinical histories developed and implemented during their rotation. |

| By the end of the course the student will be able to perform the functions of prevention, diagnoses, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with the common surgical problems related to health. Thus, he/she will use the scientific and practical knowledge, the abilities to ask for and handle information, and the skills to set an effective communication accordingly with the community's needs and expectations. All these will facilitate an efficient service characterized by a quality philosophy that enhances the attitudes and values of a medicine professional for the proper surgical attention of patients and for his/her personal. | |||||
