Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios: |

Es un curso básico para los alumnos de las carreras de ciencias de la salud que les permite tener una visión más objetiva y crítica sobre su papel profesional en cuanto al uso de los avances tecnológicos en el contexto de una sociedad globalizada y en una economía basada en conocimiento y orientada al desarrollo de una sociedad sostenible; el curso requiere conocimientos básicos del método científico, del uso de tecnologías de información y comunicación, y de estadística. Como producto de aprendizaje de este curso los alumnos aplicarán juicios basados en evidencias para analizar los avances tecnológicos en el área de la salud, para la selección de conocimiento científico en su área de especialidad y el logro de propuestas orientadas a una sociedad sostenible, desarrollarán un trabajo de investigación científica adecuado a su nivel avance curricular. |

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación: |

| Al finalizar el curso, los alumnos comprenderán de manera crítica de los avances científicos y tecnológicos en el proceso de atención a la salud en el contexto de la sociedad de la información. Lo anterior les permitirá participar de manera ética y responsable en el desarrollo de un entorno sostenible. Para lograr lo anterior se abordarán los siguientes contenidos: historia de la tecnología en la atención a la salud, implicaciones éticas en el uso de la tecnología en salud, características de la sociedad de la información y el conocimiento; naturaleza de la información y el conocimiento, desarrollo sostenible y salud, recursos aplicados a la salud y sustentabilidad, sistemas de búsqueda; medicina basada en evidencias, uso de la biblioteca digital, tendencias tecnológicas en salud, manejo ético de la tecnología y la información en ciencias de la salud. | |||||

Course intention within the general study plan context: |

|
It is a basic course for the students with majors in health sciences that allow them to have a more objective and critical vision of its professional role as it relates to the technological advances in the context of a global society and in a knowledge-based economy oriented towards the development of a sustainable society. The course requires basic knowledge of the scientific method, the use of information and communication technologies, and statistics. As a result of this, the students will apply judgments based on evidence to analyze the technological advances in the health care field, for the selection of scientific knowledge in their specialty area and the achievement of proposals oriented to a sustainable society, they will develop scientific research adapted to their academic level. |

| At the end of the course, the students will critically understand the scientific and technological advances in the health care process in the context of the information society. This will allow them to participate ethically and responsibly in the development of a sustainable environment. In order to obtain this, the following contents will be covered: history of the technology in health care; ethical implications in the use of the technology in health; characteristics of the information and the knowledge-based society; nature of the information and knowledge; sustainable development and health; resources applied to health and sustainability; search systems; medicine based on evidence; use of the digital library; technological tendencies in health; ethical handling of technology and information in health sciences. | |||||
