Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Curso de nivel avanzado en el área de ciencia política orientado a que el alumno analice el origen y el desarrollo de la sociedad civil con la finalidad de que conozca su importancia en la transformación de un sistema político a través de la participación ciudadana. Requiere conocimientos previos sobre el concepto de ciudadanía y elaboración de la política. Como resultado de aprendizaje el alumno identificará las distintas formas en las que puede organizarse la sociedad civil y, a su vez, los distintos mecanismos de participación ciudadana posibles.

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación:  

Al finalizar este curso el alumno será capaz de reconocer la importancia de la sociedad civil, cómo se organiza y cómo participa, con la finalidad de abrir canales desde el sector público o concientizar acerca del fomento de la participación ciudadana en la vida pública de una sociedad.

Course intention within the general study plan context:  

The purpose of this advanced political science course is for students to analyze the origin and development of civil society with the goal of understanding its importance in the transformation of a political system through citizen participation. It requires previous knowledge of the concept of citizenship and policy development. Learning outcome: students will identify the different ways in which civil society is organized and, in turn, the different possible mechanisms for citizen participation.

Course objective:  

On completing this this course, students will be able to recognize the importance of civil society, how it is organized and how to participate, in order to open channels from the public sector or raise awareness about promoting citizen participation in the public life of a society.
