Intención del curso en el contexto general del plan de estudios:  

Es un curso de nivel avanzado en el campo de estudio de telecomunicaciones digitales; que necesita que los estudiantes dominen los fundamentos de señales aleatorias y sistemas, así como el tratamiento de las mismas. Como producto de aprendizaje de este curso, se espera que el estudiante desarrolle las habilidades para realizar un análisis estocástico y comparativo de señales y sistemas de telecomunicaciones como modulación y transmisión, y cuente con los fundamentos para diseñar y evaluar el desempeño de los mismos, así como aplicar algoritmos de codificación de fuente y canal utilizando los fundamentos de teoría de información, de tal manera que puedan ser implementados.

Objetivo general de la Unidad de Formación:  
Al finalizar este curso, el estudiante será capaz de evaluar sistemas de digitalización de información y sistemas de transmisión, así como también determinará la eficiencia de sistemas de modulación digital y utilizar los algoritmos de codificación de fuente y de canal. Para ello se consideran principalmente los contenidos de digitalización de información, sistemas de modulación digital y teoría de la información y codificación.

Course intention within the general study plan context:  

Course objective:  
At the end of the course, the student will be able to evaluate digital information systems, and transmission systems, will also be able to determine the efficiency of digital modulation systems and will be able to use the source and channel coding algorithms. For this purpose, the concepts of information digitization, digital modulation systems and information theory and coding are of essential importance.
