Las Credenciales Alternativas tienen las siguientes características:
- Son independientes a los planes de estudio y a los documentos oficiales como el diploma de Preparatoria, el título Profesional y los grados académicos de Posgrado que emite el Tecnológico de Monterrey.
- Son diseñadas para la demostración y evaluación de aprendizajes, habilidades y/o competencias específicas que se desarrollan y evalúan en dicha experiencia formativa.
- Su ruta de logro se compone de un conjunto de unidades de formación, actividades de vivencia cocurricular, acreditación de competencias o bien una combinación de las anteriores.
- Pueden ser acumulables mediante una ruta de logros.
- Por su naturaleza, la participación en una Credencial Alternativa considera dedicación y esfuerzo adicional por parte del estudiante, así como el pago de colegiatura correspondiente.
-Al concluir satisfactoriamente la ruta de logros definida se otorga la credencial y su insignia digital.
La participación en una Credencial Alternativa contempla los siguientes aspectos:
- El estudiante comparte con su Director(a) de programa la intención de inscribirse en alguno de los planes de estudio de las Credenciales Alternativas autorizados por el Centro de Evaluación y Credenciales Alternativas.
- El logro de la Credencial Alternativa ocurre cuando se ha cursado y aprobado con calificación final igual o mayor a 70/100 cada una de las unidades de formación que forman parte de la ruta de logro y se han demostrado de manera satisfactoria con un grado de logro Básico, Sólido o Destacado todas las competencias que estén asociadas a dichas unidades de formación.
-Los estudiantes podrán comunicar su deseo de suspender definitivamente su participación en las experiencias formativas de la credencial alternativa siguiendo las políticas y los procedimientos administrativos definidos por la Dirección de Servicios Escolares para ese fin. Las unidades de formación que sean parte de la ruta de logro de la credencial alternativa, de la cual el estudiante haya decidido darse de baja, que hayan sido cursadas y aprobadas podrán considerarse para la acreditación de materias electivas de Semestre Tec. Este proceso deberá realizarse con la orientación de su Director de Entrada o Programa.
Al finalizar este programa el estudiante será capaz de:
- Implementar estrategias de autocuidado sugeridas por expertos institucionales identificando su impacto en su vida en cada área de bienestar físico, emocional, mental, social, profesional y material, que le permitan florecer en el ambiente cotidiano.
- Construir acuerdos y propuestas mediante el intercambio de argumentos y emociones, que consideren contextos comunicativos del ejercicio profesional y de la vida ciudadana.
- Evaluar el impacto de iniciativas emprendedoras en el ámbito personal, en los clientes o usuarios y en los diferentes grupos de interés, desde un marco ético y de sustentabilidad, en el contexto de experiencias de aprendizaje en la academia, en un entorno profesional y/o de participación ciudadana.
- Respetar la dignidad, derechos, contribuciones y circunstancias personales y de los demás, procurando presentar soluciones constructivas y solidarias ante situaciones ajenas.
Alternative Credentials have the following characteristics:
-They are independent of the study plans and official documents such as the High School diploma, the Undergraduate degree, and the Graduate academic degrees issued by Tecnológico de Monterrey.
-They are designed for the demonstration and evaluation of specific learnings, skills, and/or competencies that are developed and assessed in the respective formative experience.
-Their achievement path consists of a set of educational units, cocurricular experience activities, competency accreditation, or a combination of the above.
-They can be accumulated through an achievement path.
-Due to their nature, participation in an Alternative Credential requires additional dedication and effort from the student, as well as the corresponding tuition payment.
-Upon successfully completing the defined achievement path, the credential and its digital badge are awarded.
Participation in an Alternative Credential includes the following aspects:
-The student shares with their Program Director the intention to enroll in one of the study plans of the Alternative Credentials authorized by the Center for Evaluation and Alternative Credentials.
-The achievement of the alternative credential occurs when each of the educational units that are part of the achievement path has been taken and passed with a final grade equal to or greater than 70/100, and all the competencies associated with these educational units have been satisfactorily demonstrated with a Basic, Solid, or Outstanding degree of achievement.
-Students will be able to communicate their desire to permanently suspend their participation in the formative experiences of the alternative credential by following the administrative policies and procedures defined by the Academic Services Office for that purpose. The educational units that are part of the alternative credential achievement pathway, from which the student has decided to withdraw, and have been taken and passed may be considered for elective course accreditation in the Tec Semester. This process must be carried out with the guidance of their Entry or Program Director.
At the end of this program, the student will be able to:
• Implement self-care strategies suggested by institutional experts, identifying their impact on their life in each area of physical, emotional, mental, social, professional, and material well-being, allowing them to flourish in everyday environments.
• Build agreements and proposals through the exchange of arguments and emotions, considering communicative contexts in professional practice and civic life.
• Evaluate the impact of entrepreneurial initiatives on a personal level, on clients or users, and on various stakeholders, from an ethical and sustainability framework, within the context of learning experiences in academia, a professional environment, and/or civic participation.
• Respect the dignity, rights, contributions, and personal circumstances of themselves and others, striving to present constructive and supportive solutions to external situations.

- Se otorgará la insignia de Credencial Alternativa cuando el estudiante apruebe con una calificación final de al menos 70/100 las unidades de formación que componen la ruta de logros. Además, demuestre de manera satisfactoria con un grado de logro Básico, Sólido o Destacado todas las subcompetencias que estén asociadas a dichas unidades de formación.
- En las Credenciales Alternativas que se considera la participación en actividades de vivencia extraacadémica (LiFE), debe existir registro de evaluación de las subcompetencias en los habilitadores institucionales oficiales.
-The Alternative Credential badge will be awarded when the student passes with a final grade of at least 70/100 in the educational units that comprise the achievement pathway. Additionally, they must satisfactorily demonstrate a level of achievement of Basic, Solid, or Outstanding in all the sub-competencies associated with these educational units.
-In the Alternative Credentials where participation in extracurricular living activities (LiFE) is considered, there must be a registered evaluation of the sub-competencies in the official institutional enablers.
